right column categories listing

Hi,

is it possible to have the categories box in the right column, have always display the main categories, instead of the sub-categories when in a specific category, or sub-category?
i.e. I have main categories:
"automotive"
"health"
"shopping"
the "shopping" category has 3 sub-categories "clothing" "jewelry" "furniture"
when I click "shopping" in the right coulmn categories box I see:
"clothing"
"jewelry"
"furniture"
but I'd like to see
"automotive"
"health"
"shopping"

If possible how do I do it?

I get a 500 internal error.
Perhaps I missed some step, I'll try again in the next days with more attention, I'll let you know.

I tried again, amd again, but I keep getting 500 internal server error.

Maybe if I spoke French it could have helped ...

Here is what I did:
created the file
arfooo-dir/templates/my-template/category/allCatsInMenu.tpl
I loaded, and nothing happened ... I know it shouldn't have, I just did step by step.

Then I added the code in step-2 to
arfooo-dir/controllers/categoryController.php
I loaded, and nothing happened: no errors

Then I added the code to
arfooo-dir/templates/my-template/menu/menuright/menuright.tpl
I cleared the cache, and when hit refresh on the browser I got the 500 error.

Can you please help me understand what am I doing wrong?
